The Truth about Nut Butters for Weight Loss!

People on a weight loss program should include nut and seed butters in their diet as it is low in carbs and high in oleic acid. Nut and seed butters can work best when taken before exercise as it helps in giving a boost to your energy levels, keeps you fuller for longer and helps to build muscle and boost the metabolism due to it’s high protein content.

Here’s some great Pre & Post Exercise Nut & Seed Butter Energy Balls:

First make your own peanut butter using NutraMilk machine:

1 cup almonds

¾ cup walnuts

½ cup mixed seeds (pumpkin, sesame, sunflower and flax)

¼ cup macadamia nuts

5 apricot kernels

Twist of Himalayan crystal salt

Add to Nutramilk machine and press make butter – voila.

To make the Energy Balls

Transfer the nut and seed butter to a bowl and add:

2 tbsp raw pot honey (RAWyal Honey)(add more if not sticking together)

1 cup rolled oats

¼ cup dedicated coconut

1 tbsp Cacoa Liquid Love blend (optional)

6 dried apricots (to use for centres)

10 dried cherries (to use for centres)

Mix the honey, oats, desiccated coconut and Nutramilk nut and seed butter together.

Split the mixture into 3 equal parts, so you can make 3 different energy balls.

Energy Ball 1

Take a small handful of the mixture and press into a flat disk/circle. Place a dried apricot in the middle then mould the mixture around the apricot, covering it completely in a ball shape.

Energy Ball 2

Take a small handful of the mixture and press into a flat disk/circle. Place 1 or 2 dried cherries in the middle then mould the mixture around the cherries, covering it completely in a ball shape.

Energy Ball 3

Mix 1 tbsp of Cacoa Liquid Love Blend to the mixture for a chocolate boost filled energy ball.
